What's the difference between a bursary and a scholarship? I used to think that they are the same.

Bursaries are financial aid awarded to students based on their low financial capability to further their education while Scholarships are financial awards given to students based on their academic excellence. The similarities between them is that they are both non-repayable.

Unfortunately, financial aid for international students are limited. Bursaries and financial Grants are usually awarded to Canadian students, but there are scholarships for international students, most of which are available to graduate students.

Some reputable sources for you to get Canadian scholarships are universitystudy.ca and scholarshipscanada.com. You can find scholarships for international students there.
