Hello everyone,

I am about to round up with my high school education and really planning and preparing for my university education. i was told that textbooks used in tertiary institutions are really expensive. So, what do you think I should do? Should I buy all the books or rent them? I have, prior to this time, read a review online that says that I should rent them or read online. But I am not pleased with this answer. I want to have these books so that I can have access to them anytime any day.

Do you think I should opt for e-books or i should go for hard copies of books? I am always carried away by films, music and other distractions.

I anticipate your responses.

Buying books is definitely better. However, I recommend you buy the used ones. It is really cheaper and there is a higher chance you see some jotted hints in the book which might help you one day.

E-books are good but people with eye problem might not find it good.

Since you complained of distractions and other things, I will strongly recommend you go for hard copies. But as @roblox advised, you can go for used books, they are very cheap and we help you to save money to buy more books.

If you truly don't have money, you will go for e-books. You can download the pira*** copies of the book without paying penny. This is illegal but it might help you if you are poor and broke

Do not support pirated copies please. It is not good, how will you feel if the book you produced are being pirated and people are getting them for free?

At OP, I suggest you go for hard copies but you can save cots by buying used books.

I think that it is better to read books in online format. Just when you rent books you are responsible for their appearance. If one of the pages is torn, you will have to pay a fine. When the books are in electronic form, it is much more convenient. You will be able to have access to them at any time. To be honest, it is much more convenient to carry one iPad instead of a stack of books. I say this as a person who constantly used textbooks. I downloaded my textbooks for the first time at mytextbooks.org.

When I was younger, I admired renting books more instead of buying them. Besides being cheaper, I liked the feeling of a used-read book. Now, with this pandemic, I don't even buy publications.

I loved going to the bookstore to buy books. It was my hobby however, I agree. This pandemic changed the way I feel about going to libraries or bookstores. We are lucky to have the possibility to use an ebook. I switched to PDFe-book and, it's so comfortable this way. Moreover, many volumes aren't available now in all libraries, but online I find them very easy. It's an excellent idea and for students, developing books for ebooks. Honestly, I like reading much better this way. Totally forget about buying or renting books.

I think it depends on many factors, and there is no right answer. I prefer to buy books, as I read them twice, and sometimes even three times. In addition, I am a student, and I can not rent college textbooks. On the other hand, I can not afford to buy so many books, and even though I love reading, my financial situation does not allow me this. So, finally, I decided that the best option for me is to buy cheap pdf textbooks. I have a lot of print books, and I love reading print books, but buying pdf books is a good alternative that allows me to read all the books I want to read.
