Just heard a new type of degree called HBSc. What the difference between BSc. and HBSc.?

A BSc. degree are the regular 3 years degree programs while HBSc. are 4 years degree programs. I'm not sure Canadian universities still offers the 3 years programs tho.

Actually, it depends on the university or college. But generally, getting a HBSc. or honours degree in any other faculty always requires a thesis or a research project and a specific GPA or average is required. Taking courses that can possibly be suited to the research project is another factor used in preparing you for the degree.

And then again, if you did a research project in the university, including it in your resume is gonna make it look great. You will surely increase your chances of landing a job having that on your resume.

No they don't. Most higher institutions in Canada have already eliminated the "typical" 3 yrs degrees. In essence, all of the programs now are honours degree and there is really no point in including "honours" anymore

But most universities in Canada are still offering 3-year bachelor degrees.

Imo, all 3-year degrees are just regular bachelor degrees while all 4-year degree can either be regular degree or "honours".
