Ever since I started high school, Economics has always been one of my favorite subject. However, I was told it might be different for me when I get to the university because economics in university level is hard unlike high school. To folks that are in uni- How true is this?

If you good in maths then you can succeed economics much easier. Economics courses in the university are mostly all about maths and calculus that's why many students find it hard.

@DeluxeVegan thnk you.. will I be able to get a job easier with a degree in economics? I was told getting a degree in Business administration will be more better in terms of getting a job real quick after graduation.

I'd go for BBA if I was in your shoes,, or BComm. You are right that they do have more job opportunities than BEc. Funny enough, there are people with BEc that works in the business sector. BEc can only be very useful if you trying to work in a non-governmental organisation and this can also be a very big challenge too- because of the competition, most applicant choose to upgrade their Bachelor's degree to a Masters in Economics or other MA degrees.

I think @Cleversquirrel answered your question perfectly. With a bachelor's in Economics, it might find it challenging to get job unless you re willing to further you education, then you can go for a Master's. If not, then just stick with Business administration.

If you are passionate about Economics, then go for it. Don't be discouraged. Just be prepared because you'll be doing a whole lot of calculating.

You might find it easy maybe in high school, but Economics is 100% hard when you are pursuing it as a major in the uni.

I will suggest you go for a BBA if you don't wish to further your education because you will have hard times getting a job with a undergraduate degree in Economics. All the maths you will be doing in economics courses will mostly be calculus whereas you wont have to stress your self that much with the maths in BBA program. If you still insist in going for Economics, then include furthering your education in your plans. You go for either your CPA or CFA, or get a master's degree.
