What do you think about exchange programs abroad?

Hi guys, I want us to discuss our thoughts and views about exchange programs.

It will be nice if you can tell us your personal experience, expenses during the exchange program, and how timely it is to complete a degree. Additionally, should we opt for full year or semester-based exchange program?

It depends on what you want to gain while going for exchange program. Personally, i will go for full year exchange program if I really want to learn and gather much knowledge. A semester is not enough to learn and acquire much knowledge, except you want to explore the city and see beautiful places or go partying!

In addition to what have been said, it largely depends on the management skills of an individual. Exchange programs are really good for developing resilience, confidence, and exposure, and makes us to mix with different kind of people in different and unfamiliar environment. To the best of my knowledge, I think most school will organize seminars about how their programs work and acquaint you with the new environment where you just found yourself. As regarding costs and other necessary details, i think you can get the information from the exchange university.

To be honest, i don't think it is good to go for exchange program, it is more like a waste of time to me. Why can't one finishes one's course or degree and go abroad for another program. I don't think it is useful

You have a point but I don't agree with you. A lot of people uses the exchange program opportunity to learn new languages, gain knowledge, and widen their network. So, it depends largely on an individual. Exchange program is good!
